Killarney Racecourse

The Killarney racecourse is half a mile from Killarney town centre, off the Kenmare road. Killarney is left handed oval racetrack of just over 9 furlongs with a run in of 3 furlongs. For Flat races run up to a mile then a low draw is best.

Racing at the Killarney track go back as far as 1827 with a move to the current track happening in 1936. One of the biggest events of the Irish Horse Racing calendar is the Killarney 4 day summer festival. The track is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Ireland with the lakes of Killarney together with the background mountains providing the racecourse with one of the most natural settings in Ireland.
